Slobodan Zivic ’Unknown territory’ at Contra\Welt Stockholm 2023.
There is a symbolic language that intersects my work, elements of hidden meanings and messages of wealth, heritage and complexity of class. My focus draws towards how my experience of being anchored within a bicultural social structure from both Serbian and Swedish upbringing effects my view on western popular culture. I’m paying attention how different materials can take lead in my process towards an visual anatomy of distorted and warped shapes, displaced layers, clashing color schemes and materials.
